The lost planet


Hi, my name is Thomas. I am 11 years old and I will present you a book I just read:  The lost planet by Rachel Searles.


Overview (plot) (Attention, this paragraph might contain spoilers!)

Chase woke up with a bleeding hole in his head and amnesia in a place he does not know, he wants to find his memory but can he find it or the people who know it? With the help Of Parker and his android he sets off to discover how he had a bleeding hole in his head and  later why he is so different.


Characters:



Heroes:


Chase: Chase has amnesia, but he managed to remember one thing, "guide the star" he has no idea what this means or what it speaks of, he knows he's different but he does not know how he got different, he tries to get his memory back but with less that desirable success.

Parker: Parker found Chase on his lawn, having no idea how Chase got there and not knowing his name, he brought him in and saved him from the defense system which would have neutralized Chase, he helped him in his search for his memory.

Maurus: Maurus was a fleet officer, but he was set up and blamed for having exploded Trucon, a colony planet, but Maurus tries to prove he's innocent and meets Parker and Chase. At first he does not know what to do with them but at the end proves to be a useful ally.



Secondary characters


Mina: Is parker's android, it has a strong female human resemblance but is an android. It was designed by Asa to protect Parker.

Asa: Asa is Parker's guardian but since he has no time to take care of hime he made an android which he named Mina . Mina made sure Parker stayed safe and annoyed Parker most of the time. Asa did not contact Parker at any time and Parker thought he was a hight-tech company owner.

 Antagonists

Rezer Bennin: is a criminal lord, he's the Rezer after removing the precedent Rezer from his position, he's a cold-blooded tyrant.



Location

The story happens in space but also on several planets (mainly Trucon, Quesaris and Mircona). The main interaction is on Quesaris which was used to harbor fugitives from Trucon.

Trucon: Trucon is a colony planet, it is infested with Zinnjerhas, they can kill anyone stupid enough to get out of a protected area.

Quesaris: Quesaris is home to Rezer Bennin and all kind of scum, but being close to Trucon it is where the fleet decided to move the inhabitants of the blasted planet.

Mircona: Mircona is Trucon's moon, it has indoor parks, markets and thing like that.

Style of writing

The style of writing reveals little by little information but always keeping the reader asking for more.

Intended audience

 All Science-Fiction fans will love this book.

What I liked most in this book

 The thing I liked most in this book was Chase's amnesia.

Le royaume de kensuke

Salut,

Je m'appelle Thomas. Je suis âgé de 11 ans et je vais vous présenter un livre que je viens de lire: Le royaume de Kensuke 

Personnages: 

Heroes: 


  • Kensuke:Il est victime d'un naufrage qui a eu lieu pendant la guerre entre le Japon et l'Amerique, il etait parti avec la marine et son bateau a ete bombarde. Il a reussi a echouer sur une ile etant le dernier corps qui respire que le bateau a transporter. Il est celui qui a aide Michael. 
  • Michael: s'est fait emporter par le vent pendant une tempete sur le bateau de sa famille, tenant a la vie avec sa chienne qui etait tombee avec lui, ils survivent assez longtemps pour etre sauves par Kensuke. 
  •  Stella:Stella est la chienne de Michael et de sa famille, elle reconforte tout le monde pendant les tempetes. 

Antagonistes: 

Des chasseurs d'animaux arrivent sur l'ile de temps en temps, tuant des animaux et prenant des petits mais Kensuke chante pour que des orang-outangs viennent avec lui a l'abri des chasseurs.

Emplacement 

 Une ile, avec des droles de singes et des orang-outangs et pleine d'animaux en general
Style d'écriture: Plutot bien, pas aussi bien que Robinson Crusoe mais presque.

Fans de Robinson Crusoe

Ivan: Ivan is a gorilla silver back, he was meant to protect his troop but he has no one to protect, he lives in a small mall with Stella, an elephant and Bob, a dog

Stella: Stella is an adult elephant, she used to belong to a big circus but was sold to Mack when she injured her foot.

Ruby: Ruby is a baby elephant,  she changed Ivan's life when she arrived at the mall

Bob: Bob is a homeless dog, but he likes to live at the mall, eating food in garbage cans.

Julia: Julia is George's daughter, her mom is in the hospital and she likes to draw, sometimes she gives paper and crayons to Ivan

Secondary characters

Mack: He's the owner of the mall, he hired George and bought Ivan and Stella.

George: He is Julia's dad and is the keeper of the animals, he also mops the mall.

Not very precise and half of the pages are empty

Overview



Characters

Heroes

Bick: Bick is a writer, he writes things and generally fights with Beck, his sister, they're twins.

Beck: Beck is a drawer with poor vocabulary, she's Bick's twin and they fight a lot, she drawes better than Bick.

Storm: She's Bick's and Beck's older sister, she has a photographic memory and is over-weight.

Tommy: He's the oldest kid at 17 and likes surfing, he has super-muscles from doing boat stuff. Like pulling ropes.

Secondary characters

Louie Louie is the kind of person that buys black market stuff and his armpits are basically showers, but he has stuff that other people need.


Antagonists


Surf pirate dudes: They were hired by collier as thugs to harass anyone who has things that they discovered in the ocean and is special.


Collier: He's a treasure stealer, he steals treasure from treasure hunters and then put it in the newspaper.

Aramis: He's a black-market guy gangster and is wanted by the FBI and the CIA

The world that we live in.


style of writing

The style of writing is weird but also makes it seem as if the guys in there are talking to you.

Everyone

What I liked most in this book

The fact that it make you feel the book is talking.

Heroes

Callum Hunt: Nicknamed Call. He's twelve years old, brought up by his dad, Alastair, and he was taught that magic and mages were evil. He has a cripple in his leg and his mom died.

Aaron: Aaron's parents both died, he's a hard worker and a eager learner, he's always optimistic and supports other people, he about Call's age.

Tamara: She came from a very strict family, her sister tried to get really good at magic and there's more to that story but you'll have to read the book, Tamara

Heroes

Alfred McQuin: Nicknamed Alfie. Alfie is March and Jules's father, he's also the greatest burglar wanted all over the world

March: March is Alfie's son, he's 13 and helps out when Alfie robs somewhere, he can pick any lock.

Jules: Jules is Alfie's daughter, she's 13 and the twin sister of March, she's really good at acrobatics but Jules and March were brought up separately, they didn't even know each other.

Izzy: Izzy is short and has a long history of being locked in places and forgotten, March and Jules met her at the Polestar house (a.k.a the orphanage)

Darius: Darius has a bad mom who forgets about him and isn't very responsible so the court sent him to the Polestar house, there he met Izzy and looked out for her.

Secondary characters

Maggie: Maggie is March and Jules's mom and died by falling in a torrent at the end of a diamond heist.


 Antagonists


Oscar: used to be Alfie's friend, is actually against him. He like stealing and some people think he is a movie star.

Blue: star of a circus-like troop she had kept and fed Jules while Jules did some acrobatics for the show. Blue has one motivation: money.

The style of writing is sometimes drawing you in really close then pushing you back, you feel as if you see the characters and as if you are standing besides them as you read.

I think the intended audience is anyone who likes robber stories.

What I liked most in this book

The thing I liked most in this book is how you always seem to be prepared for what comes next and when it comes it blows your breath away.

The swiss family robinson

My name is Thomas. I am 11 years old and I will present you a book I just read: The Swiss family Robinson.


Characters

Heroes

Fritz: He is the oldest son, he made many of the discoveries and helped his dad keep danger away and food plentiful. When they shipwrecked he was 15. He tamed a wild Onega which they named light foot because he ran really fast.

Ernest: He's 11, he helps out everywhere and find things in the places where they go.

Jack: Jack is thirteen, he helped mostly with finding food and hunting with Fritz and his dad.

Francis: he's the youngest son at 8 but he helps out by helping to make the food and garden.

Elizabeth: She's the wife of the narrator. She cooks things and makes the clothes will the father and some of the sons go with him to get food and explore.

The Father:  He's the narrator, he's Swiss and he led the way to great success at the island. He made sure everything was safe and created ways to accomplish things that helped them in their goal to survive.



Secondary characters

Emily Montrose: she was the daughter of the captain of a fleet but since she's not supposed to be in a battleship she went on a different ship and shipwrecked on the same island as the Robinson's.

Turk and Flora: They were the dogs of the captain but he might not need them anymore. They had been found by Jack on the wreck.

 Antagonists


Boa constrictor: When they had thought it was peaceful a boa constrictor came over and started killing their animals, they tried shooting at it but the shots would not go through the scales, they only managed to kill it after it had eaten their donkey, Grizzle.

Brown bears: They had attacked when Ernest discovered them, he had ran away and they had followed, but when he met his father and the bears emerged from the forest they were shot and killed.

Lion and lioness: When the family were exploring and camped in a place a lion had jumped out of the bushes and got shot dead but his mate killed Flora, their dog, who inflicted death upon her killer too.

I think that the style of writing is one that seems to boost you through the book, making you hungry for more.

I think the intended audience was anyone who read and like Robinson Crusoe.

The thing liked most in this book was that anything could happen.

Bilbo the hobbit

My name is Thomas. I am 11 years old and I will present you a book I just read: The hobbit


Characters

Heroes

Bilbo the hobbit: Bilbo was a peaceful creature who ate a lot before the adventure and came back with dwarven chain mail armor, a elven sword named sting and a bold heart.

Thorin Oakshield: Thorin was the grandson of a famous and rich dwarven lord but he loosed his inheritance when a dragon named Smaug invaded his grandfather's castle.

Bombur: Bombur is a fat fellow who likes to eat and after going through the elven forests, dream too.

Gandalf: Gandalf is a wizard, where he walks adventures spring up and happen, he can do wonderful things but terrible things too. He only comes when you least expect him and most need him.

Dwalin: Dwalin is a dwarf, his grandparents were there when Smaug attacked the castle and probably died so he joined Thorin because he had a bone to pick with Smaug.

Balin: Balin is a dwarf, he was part of the hunting party which comprised of him, Thorin, Kili, Fili, Bombur, Oin, Ori, Bifur and Bofur, they were all out hunting when the dragon attacked so they were unscathed.But they wanted revenge

Kili: Is one of the youngest dwarfs in the group

Fili: Is also one of the youngest in the group

Dori: Is in the group because he had revenge in his mind but he especially thought of the treasure the dragon had hoarded.

Nori: Nori was in for the gold, they would each get a fourteenth of the gold when they slayed the dragon.

Ori: Ori was in for the revenge but how can you not resist tons of gold too?

Oin: Wanted the gold especially but the revenge was sort of the problem since a dragon is hard to kill.

Gloin: Was in because he was part of the hunting group when the dragon attacked, oh, and because of the gold.

Bifur: Was there almost entirely for the gold, almost.

Bofur:  Was there for the same reasons as everybody else.


Secondary characters

Beorn: Is a super-strong guy who has many really smart animals who do the dishes and stuff, he can turn into a bear too.

The lord of the eagles: The lord of eagles is, well, the leader of the eagles, he helped Thorin and company when they were in trouble with the goblins

Bard: Bard is a archer and a descendant from the lord of Dale, but Dale got destroyed and everyone there died when Smaug attacked, Dale used to be right next to the mountain where Thorin's grandfather used to rule.

The master of the lake-men: He's the leader and sort of the mayor of lake town, a small village that was built on water.


 Antagonists

Smaug: The dragon killed thousands of innocent people, destroyed a civilisation and almost finished another were it not for the little troop.

Gollum: He lives in a cave, deep, deep, deep, deep underground and guards a magic ring that make anyone wearing it invisible. He got it from his birthday, but don't feel bad when Bilbo stole it from him because Gollum almost killed Bilbo.

The goblins: They were the ones to force the dwarfs and Bilbo to separate and caused him to meet Gollum

The three trolls: they managed to capture all the dwarfs and the dwarfs would have been eaten if Gandalf had not came. By the loot in the trolls cave the troop armed themselves.

Location

The world they live in is called the Wilderlands.


style of writing

It is written beautifully but if you don't pay attention you may skip a line. It captivates the reader and opens the world to him showing everything with the most detail possible.

Intended audience

I think the intended audience is for people who need to find a match  for Harry potter, and if that is the case then I think that this book is better.

What I liked most in this book

The thing I liked most in this book was that Bilbo changed over the course of the adventure and displayed courage, friendship and truthfulness.

My name is Thomas. I am 10 years old and I will present you a book I just read:Halt's Peril 

Overview

Halt, Will and Horace need to find and exterminate the remaining group of Tennyson's group, but when a Genovesan, one of Tennyson's assassins spots them things get tricky.


Characters

Heroes

Will is a ranger, an elite squad of longbow men who also do espionage and secret missions for the king. He's young and was the apprentice of Halt, and likes honey in his coffee. He got that habit from Halt during his apprenticeship. He is in love with an apprentice of lady Pauline.

Horace is a knight of Araluen serving the king. He has a soft spot for Cassandra, the king's daughter, and was a companion of Will's in the orphanage where they grew up, although they got into many fights.

Halt is a ranger and was previously the master of Will. He like honey in his coffee and passes that habit to all his apprentices. He is the ranger of Redmont fief as every ranger is assigned to a fief. They have to protect it and keep it safe. He likes it there, as his wife works there and he has many friends there.


Secondary characters

Black'O'Malley is a smuggler in Port Cael, he provided transport to Tennyson but refuses to tel where he brought him first, but he turns out to talk more when held at knife point.

Ardel Keelty is captain of the Sparrow He comes from a different village where most people are honest, he brought The Araluens to the place where Black'O'Malley dropped off Tennyson Ardel was useful for voyaging the seas.

Antagonists

Tennyson is a false prophet, trying to get people to give him gold, jewelry and other valuables. He hires bandits and make it seem as if he is summoning the power of the sun god: Aleass.

Style of writing

Flanagan writes the story with the skill of the degree that the words seem to flow off the page and morph into images.

Intended audience

I think that the intended audience is anyone who likes literacy.

What I liked most in this book

The thing I liked most in this book is that they were so close to failure and then won!

Overview

In this world everyone has a animas, which is a species of animals for example there's animas owl then you can if your bond with the animal is strong enough see and feel what it does which can be useful when people don't have an animas then they have an absence which lead to madness and tragedy.

Heroes

Bailey is 11-12 years old, he's declared to have an absence and has sandy hair, he is curious and is lucky

Sophia, who likes to be called Phi, is animas eagle she wants to fly like her eagle and builds wings that Tremelo helped her build.

Hal is animas bat and likes to follow rules.

Tori is animas snake and is quite unpredictable.

Secondary characters

Tremelo is interested in knowing about very secret things and was adopted by The loon a Resistance leader who was thought crazy.

Antagonists

Taylor is Hal's older brother and knows that Bailey has no animas. He is mean to Hal and Bailey, and is animas cat.

The style of writing brings everyone, even the ones just glancing at the page, in the story

Anyone who likes to read!

What I liked most in this book

The thing I liked most is, in the end is there is plenty of action and I liked that.

The lost world

My name is Thomas. I am 10 years old and I will present you a book I just read:The lost world.

 

Overview (plot)

An expedition was sent from England to see if what Professor Challenger said is true ,nobody believes him except Mr.Malone who Challenger showed proof to, but the proof when presented by Challenger was said to be faked .The expedition composes of Mr.Malone a pressman, Challenger ,Lord John and professor Summerlee . The point challenger wants to make is that in a certain point in south America there are dinosaurs who still claw at the earth.

Characters

Heroes

Ed Malone is a reporter for the Daily Gazette he is in love with Gladys and wants her to be proud of having him as a husband. He proves to be, as most of the people in the expedition, very useful.

Dr.Challenger is obnoxious. He thinks everybody else are idiots , he harbors a special hate for the press and more that one newspaper man descended the stairs in a Catherine wheel with Mr.Challenger, he is the number one most hated person in London.

Dr.Summerlee is against the idea Challenger proposes and he does so in sneers, he has a deep hate for the professor and in the trip they quarrelled most of the time. 

Lord john Roxton is a very rich man, he's a bachelor, has a reputation as a sportsman and went to the amazon doing many brave deeds,he stopped a group which enslaved people and killed their king, in a river(The king was in a river, not John) John brings all the weapons and ammunition on their expedition.

Secondary characters

Gambez is the slave king's brother took revenge upon John Roxton by trapping them on the plateau.

Gladys is Ed Malone's girlfriend, she was his impetus to join the expedition

The Indians on the plateau are one of the two human-like species on the plateau, their prince was saved by Ed Malone and John Roxton while the two friends were saving the professors from the Ape-men.The Indians became the little group's only ally on the plateau.

Antagonists

The Ape-men are the second human-like species on the plateau,they  are hostile to the expedition but are exterminated at the end of the book.

Location

The amazon rain forest, south America, southern hemisphere, western hemisphere.

Style of writing

It was written with the adventure being unrolled, revealed with each word read.

Intended audience

I think this book was intended to anyone who likes to read a book in front of a chimney.

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer 


Characters

Heroes

Artemis is a twelve year old criminal,his mother turned insane over the fact that Artemis Fowl senior,Blew up while sailing to illegally trading.He found a way to manage himself a ton of fairy gold and has about 15 million$ with the gold,He has schemed his way out of the siege on his Family estate,and made the elf leader lose his temper before they even started negotiations,he is a genius and a evil mastermind.

Butler is Artemis's Hit man and Butler. He has a personal armory on him at all times and has 100 ways to kill with his bare hands,he wrestled a troll that was larger that he was in medieval armor and a mace and succeeded.He is a muscleman that is not dumb and that is what makes him useful.

Juliet is butler's brother, she went through the same training he did and is as good in martial arts,she is sixteen but respects Artemis as much as her brother because of his genius.


Secondary characters

Nguyen was Artemis's and butler's guide when they went to find The book It is a book that describes every fairy law and rule, he got paid 20 thousand dollars after bringing them to a healer, who is actually a fairy.

 Antagonists


Root is a fairy police and military officer, his face often changes color when he gets angry thus his nickname : beetroot.

Foalie is a centaur,he is the fairy police's and military scientist/technician ,he is the only reason fairy people have tech far more advanced than the humans or mud people as they call us.

Holly short is the fairy or leprechaun to be more precise that Artemis captured for ransom. She has hazel eyes.

The author writes this with passion letting details flow and form the setting while the words lure us imagining things moving in that setting

Intended audience

I think that this book was made for every book loving person.

What I liked most in this book

I really like it when Butler managed to defeat the troll

The kings of Clonmel

Hi, 

My name is Thomas. I am 10 years old and I will present you a book I just read: The kings of Clonmel by John Flanagan.


Overview

The book is a very detailed story of three companions who try to stop a cult from happening in a foreign country,they must do it in a way that shows to all that it fake and there is no god protecting them but they have to do that without being speared.But All the while Tennyson is hiring bandits telling them to pretend to attack villages but if he didn't show up they had to attack for real and people started thinking that Tennyson was summoning the power of the sun god Aleass,and he told them that he needed gold to give to Aleass.
