The magician´s nephew

Hi,

My name is Thomas. I am 12 years old and I will present you a book I just read: The magician´s nephew, the the prequel of the series; the chronicles of Narnia .

Characters

Heroes

Digory: Digory came to London and thought that it was a horrible place to live, but when he met Polly though it may have been a lot more fun for him. He really wanted to live in a country house.

Polly: Polly lived in London before Digory came and had discovered a way to get into other houses, she usually only went a short way in and read books and drank ginger-beer, she left the bottles there to make it look like a smuggler´s cave, which is what they called it.

Secondary characters

Letty: Ketterley:  Letty Ketterly is Digory´s aunt and Andrew´s sister, she is the one who does the most work in the house excepting their maid. She is often asked for money from Andrew, who spends it mostly on alcohol.

 Antagonists

Andrew Ketterley:  Andrew, who is Digory´s uncle, discovered magic and is trying to use it to get to other worlds, he wants to use the children as test subjects as he considers himself too important to be tested on.

Jadis: Jadis used to be a queen in an other world, but when her sister rebelled against her she destroyed her entire world but her and made it so that if people happened to find her they would be able to awaken her. In  her own world she had the power to turn things into dust and had incredible strength. She is very practical and only adresses the people that she thinks she can make use of.

Location

The story takes place in London and in Narnia, a world that is being created by a magical creature usually seen in the form of a lion and know by the name of Aslan. There are two main areas in this book, Narnia and Archenland. Both Narnia and Archenland are controlled by humans or by sons of Adam and daughters of Eve which are the names the animals and other creatures call them.

Style of writing

The style of writing was descriptive but not too much so, it describes beautifully what was happening and the things around the action. It really lets the reader understand everything that is going on and how the things are happening.

Intended audience

I think the intended audience was for people from about 10 to 13 who like reading about fantasy, i think it is this age group because if you were nine or under you would probably want a book that is less descriptive and if you were 14 or over you would probably want a book that is more descriptive.

What I liked most in this book

What I like most about this book is that anything is possible, there are fauns and dryads and talking animals, it seems like anything can happen.
